‘Pregnancy Begins 2 Weeks Before Conception’ Now The Law In Arizona | The New Civil Rights Movement

In Arizona, women are now legally pregnant two weeks before conception, according to a new law, the Orwellianly-named, “Women’s Health and Safety Act,” signed yesterday by Republican Governor Jan Brewer. The scientifically, medically, ethically, and intellectually dishonest legislation is designed to reduce the amount of time a woman is allowed to have a legal abortion, [...]

Mississippi’s Republican Governor Candidates Support Personhood Amendment

Personhood Mississippi announced today that the state’s GOP gubernatorial candidates support the personhood amendment to be voted on this November. Under so-called personhood amendments to state constitutions, fertilized human eggs are considered to be persons having constitutional rights, regardless of how they were conceived.  A woman who was raped, for instance, would be forced to [...]

Rick Santorum: All abortion doctors should be ‘criminally charged’

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum said Sunday that all abortions should be illegal without exceptions for rape or incest. “Do you believe there should be legal exceptions for rape and incest when it comes to abortion?” NBC’s David Gregory asked Santorum. “I believe that life begins at conception and that life should be guaranteed under [...]

At a Faith and Freedom Conference in Washington on Friday, GOP presidential hopeful Rep.Michele Bachmann (R-MN) sought to appeal to religious conservatives by blasting Planned Parenthood, which provides reproductive health services to poor women. “We are giving money to corrupt organizations like Planned Parenthood that are committing crimes and enabling young minor girls and covering [...]

Abortion Foes Push To Redefine Personhood

Last year’s GOP takeover of the U.S. House and statehouses across the country has dramatically changed the shape of the nation’s abortion debate. It has also given a boost to an even more far-reaching effort: the push to legally redefine when life itself begins. The question being raised in legal terms is: When does someone [...]

The Vast Left Wing-Lesbian-Abortion Agenda Revealed by Pat Robertson

According to televangelist Pat Robertson, "… the far left is livid about killing babies. They want to do this. And you go back into … I dont want to play all this psychological stuff but nevertheless, if a woman is a lesbian, what advantage does she have over a married woman? Or what deficiency does [...]

South Dakota Law Forces Women to Listen to Religious Lectures Before Getting an Abortion

South Dakota hit a triple, attacking reproductive rights, privacy rights and religious freedom with a law aimed at the state’s one remaining abortion clinic. In our new era of relentless, abusive laws aimed at curtailing women’s reproductive rights, it takes a lot to stand out from the crowd, but South Dakota managed to do just [...]

    Opportunity's Selfie

NASA's Mars Rover Opportunity catches its own late-afternoon shadow in this dramatically lit view eastward across Endeavour Crater on Mars. The rover used the panoramic camera (Pancam) between about 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. local Mars time to record images taken through different filters and combined into this mosaic view. Most of the component images were recorded during the 2,888th Martian day, or sol, of Opportunity's work on Mars (March 9, 2012). At that time, Opportunity was spending low-solar-energy weeks of the Martian winter at the Greeley Haven outcrop on the Cape York segment of Endeavour's western rim. In order to give the mosaic a rectangular aspect, some small parts of the edges of the mosaic and sky were filled in with parts of an image acquired earlier as part of a 360-degree panorama from the same location. Opportunity has been studying the western rim of Endeavour Crater since arriving there in August 2011. This crater spans 14 miles (22 kilometers) in diameter, or about the same area as the city of Seattle. This is more than 20 times wider than Victoria Crater, the largest impact crater that Opportunity had previously examined. The interior basin of Endeavour is in the upper half of this view. The mosaic combines about a dozen images taken through Pancam filters centered on wavelengths of 753 nanometers (near infrared), 535 nanometers (green) and 432 nanometers (violet). The view is presented in false color to make some differences between materials easier to see, such as the dark sandy ripples and dunes on the crater's distant floor.
