WELCOME TO DEBATE FAITH – A ROOM FOR EXAMINING & DEBATING DEITIES & RELIGIONS

We have heard MANY arguments for gods and religions, so expect to be challenged and corrected about them.

  • YOU WILL be interrupted to clarify terms, if needed.
  • BACK UP your claims and statements with facts and links.
  • GET TO THE POINT, address your opponents points, don’t go off on tangents.
  • RAISE YOUR HAND to be recognized that you want to speak, then patiently wait your turn.
  • DO NOT INTERRUPT or talk over people.
  • When the 12 cam slots are filled, users on dock will see 11 cams in the black slots plus their own white cam slot docked at right which equals to 12, thus they will have 1 EMPTY black slot left. For users not on dock, they will see a total of 12 black cam slots filled and must wait for 1 OPEN black cam slot before they can dock on their white cam slot.

SCROLL UP for the what will get you kicked and potentially banned from the room.

Video dock  considerations

  • Mute your microphone upon entering the video dock (mouse over your video window known as a dock, then click on the lower left microphone icon of your video window).
This is so we don’t hear your background noises and / or reverb that disrupt the conversation.
  • Try not to interrupt or talk over people.
  • Raise your hand to be recognized that you would like to speak. If you wish you can raise your hand and then freeze your cam, (cam freeze is above the mic icon on your dock)
  • Everyone must be covered up, no cleavage is to be reveiled on your screen, shirts for guys is also required.
  • All of Stickam’s TOS restrictions are to be adhered to
  • When speaking, try to be succinct and address what the person you are conversing with previously said. INTERUPTIONS by moderators is a common thing, this is for several reasons:
    1) We’ve heard the argument 1000 times already TODAY !
    2) You’ve said something that needs clarification or you’re presenting a strawman falacy of what someone else just said.
    3) You’re going off topic and need to be brought back to the topic at hand

Audio considerations

  • MUTE your mic as soon as you dock up(mentioned above)
  • Watch your volume, there is an audio indicator on the right edge of your dock, make sure the levels only peak into the red
  • Adjust your volume by right clicking your dock and then click settings, the fourth icon from the left is a mic, click it and then adjust the slider bar. Also click the check box for reduce echo

Text area considerations

  • Use a dark, readable font color.  Using a light, unreadable font color will likely get you kicked

What will likely get you kicked out and/or banned from the room

  • Preaching (selling your religion to people in the room) instead of having a conversation.
  • Spamming the room with text, loud music or annoying sounds.
  • Pasting white text into the text chat area.
  • Telling Debate Faith/AtheistAtLarge where to go and what to do with himself.
  • Organizing the hacking or crashing of the room.
  • Complaining about being booted previously.
  • Mentioning Chuck Norris.
  • Doing drugs on the video dock or talking about drugs in voice or text.
  • Anarchy debates
  • Zombies

    Opportunity's Selfie

NASA's Mars Rover Opportunity catches its own late-afternoon shadow in this dramatically lit view eastward across Endeavour Crater on Mars. The rover used the panoramic camera (Pancam) between about 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. local Mars time to record images taken through different filters and combined into this mosaic view. Most of the component images were recorded during the 2,888th Martian day, or sol, of Opportunity's work on Mars (March 9, 2012). At that time, Opportunity was spending low-solar-energy weeks of the Martian winter at the Greeley Haven outcrop on the Cape York segment of Endeavour's western rim. In order to give the mosaic a rectangular aspect, some small parts of the edges of the mosaic and sky were filled in with parts of an image acquired earlier as part of a 360-degree panorama from the same location. Opportunity has been studying the western rim of Endeavour Crater since arriving there in August 2011. This crater spans 14 miles (22 kilometers) in diameter, or about the same area as the city of Seattle. This is more than 20 times wider than Victoria Crater, the largest impact crater that Opportunity had previously examined. The interior basin of Endeavour is in the upper half of this view. The mosaic combines about a dozen images taken through Pancam filters centered on wavelengths of 753 nanometers (near infrared), 535 nanometers (green) and 432 nanometers (violet). The view is presented in false color to make some differences between materials easier to see, such as the dark sandy ripples and dunes on the crater's distant floor.
