Value Voters launches national bus tour to mobilize Christian voters
The Family Research Council’s legislative affiliate, FRC Action, announced the launch of its Values Bus tour that will travel throughout the nation over the next year. The bus tour will promote the values espoused at this past weekend’s Value Voters Summit.

Right Wing Watch chronicled the values expressed at the summit — values that FRC Action believes will mobilize voters into defeating Presidential Obama’s re-election bid and banning marriage equality in the states where it is up for a vote:
- The church must rise “like a mighty army” to challenge progressive values, like the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
- Gay people are evil and the “homosexual agenda” threatens America’s liberty.
- Gay marriage and abortion are the same as slavery and the holocaust, and God will punish America if they continue.
- Gay marriage will destroy America.
- Progessives hate America and legal abortion, LGBT equality and secular government are undermining the country’s moral fiber.
- Evolution is evil and if a president endorses the theory of evolution over creationism, the nation will turn into a secular, Nazi-like state.
- Mormons are not Christian and belong to a cult.
- There is no separation of church and state under the Constitution — it’s a myth.
According to Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, the views that were expressed at the Value Voters Conference resonate with millions of Americans who are concerned about the direction of America.
“Over the next year, the Values Voter Bus will travel the country registering voters and speaking to the views held by millions of American voters who are deeply concerned about issues impacting the family and the broader culture.
“We have invited the presidential candidates to join the ‘Values Voter Bus Tour’ so that they can speak directly to values voters about their plans to protect marriage, safeguard religious liberty, protect the rights of the unborn and restore fiscal sanity.”
The Family Research Council is touting its bus tour that crossed Iowa before the 2010 elections, resulting in three supreme court justices losing their seat on the bench for finding that a ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional.
The Values Voter Bus is headed to New Hampshire and will be joined by presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann. It will then travel to the swing states of Ohio and Missouri. Over the next year, the Values Voter Bus will travel through states like North Carolina and Minnesota which have amendments on their ballots that would ban marriage equality.
