Dead Fish Resurrect End Times Hosea Prophecy Fears
When 2011 began, 5000 blackbirds died in Arkansas. Reports of large groups of birds and fish dying emerged throughout the months of January and February.
Many Christians saw the dead birds and fish as the fulfillment of biblical end times prophecy, citing a scripture from the Old Testament book of Hosea:
4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
4:2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
4:3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
The end times fears have once again resurrected, with about 1,000 dead fish observed in Ridley Park Lake, Pennsylvania about two weeks ago. The fish apparently died from the heat. A virus killed hundreds of carp in Michigan over the weekend.
The recent reports of dying fish, along with an outbreak of scarlet fever in China, a potentialflooding of a nuclear plant in Nebraska, and other stories that have been reported throughout year have Indiana end times preacher Paul Begley saying, once again, that scriptures in the book of Hosea and in Matthew 24 are being fulfilled.
