Harold Camping Says God will Punish America for Gay Pride on May 21 Judgment Day
Harold Camping, president of Family Stations, Oakland, said in a publication titled Gay Pride: Planned by God as a Sign of the End that God will punish America and the rest of the world on May 21 Judgment Day for Gay Pride movement which he compares to Sodom and Gomorrah. According to the Old Testament Scriptures, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, sulfur and brimstone because of the “sin” of homosexuality.
He explained that God’s destruction of Sodom over the sin of homosexuality is an illustration of Judgment Day.
He writes, “…the sin of homosexuality that was going on so greatly and so publicly in Sodom at the time it was destroyed has normally been kept hidden because of its shame which we already called attention to…as we view the history of the United States.”
Camping singles out the United States in the international Gay Pride Movement, “In the history of the United States for example, it (homosexuality) was always seen as an exceedingly shameful act…but in the last 20 years or so it has increasingly become a major success story…”
According to Harold Camping,
“The world-wide success of the Gay Pride/Same Sex Marriage Movement is a dramatic sign provided by God to warn the world that the world is on the threshold of Judgment Day.”
He gave examples of the destruction of the nation of Israel which, because of their national sins, God used the Roman legions to punish in 70 A.D.
Harold Camping offers repentance as the only hope to escape the Judgment of God, according to him, no one deserves God’s mercy but God is still saving many people and if any person humbly begs God might save that person on Saturday May 21, 2011, Judgment Day.
Harold Camping has already estimated that God is going to save about 200 million of the world’s population on Rapture day.
