Meet Osiris, The Other Resurrected Savior
Jesus was not the only deity who was resurrected.
Long before Jesus, the ancient Egyptian god Osiris was also resurrected.
Osiris was murdered by Set (also referred to as Seth). His wife, the goddess Isis, used her moon power to resurrect him. They made love and Horus was miraculously born.
To the Egyptians, the savior and resurrection theme of Osiris brought the hope of eternal life.
As shown in the video below, many of the Christianpractices of today parallel the Egyptian practices. The video is part of a longer documentary calledThe Hidden Story of Jesus and shows similarities between Jesus, Mithras and Osiris.
At a 3,300 year old temple dedicated to the cult of Osiris, images are shown depicting a week festival that took place one time a year, which culminated in a three-day event. During this three day period on the first day, a statue representing the earthly body of Osiris was buried. The second day involved prayers and vigils and on the third day, the statue was brought out into the court when people celebrated the resurrection of Osiris. They would eat cornbread symbolizing the body of Osiris and drink beer issued by the resurrected god.
Other aspects of the Christian (and other) religions are alleged to parallel ancient Egyptian religions, such as the Ark of the Covenant, the virgin birth, sun disks (halos), the Golden Calf, the Trinity and so forth, as shown in the following video:
