Timelines of christian horrors to humanity

Here Id like to post what Ive found on the beginnings of christianity. Ill be adding to this as my research continues. I’ll site my sources as I can and hope to show how christianity got its foothold in the minds of mankind.

Lets start shall we :

romansealring1Christianity became legal in the Roman Empire by an Imperial Edict in 315 CE, pagan temples were continually destroyed by christian mobs. The pagan priests were killed in many cases without trials.

Inbetween the 4th and 6th century, starting at 315CE we find that thousands of pagan believers were slain by the hands of these new christians.

There are many examples of Temples destroyed such as the following:

  • The Sanctuary of Aesculap in Aegaea
  • The Temple of Aphrodite in Golgatha
  • The Aphaka in Lebanon
  • The Heliopolis

The christian priests Mark of Arethusa or Cyrill of Heliopolis were famous as “the temple destroyer.”

To have pagan whorship became punishable by death in 356CE, decreed by the christian church.

The early fourth century brings the philosopher Sopatros execution, this was demanded by the christian authorities.

The christian Emperor Theodosius 408-450CE went as far as to have children executed, just because they played with fragmented remains of pagan statues.

Now this is according to christian chroniclers Emperor Theodosius had “followed meticulously all of the christian teachings…”

hypatia1A well renown female philosopher, Hypatia of Alexandria was executed by a crazed christian mob by taking shards of glass to tear at her flesh  and bone, this was led by Peter a christian minister, in a church, in 415CE.

In 6th century further acts agaisnt the pagans were committed by the christians as they declared pagans to be void of all rights.

These acts are just the beginnings, and I havent yet entered information about the gnostics, and those that followed Marcian. I shall be adding those to this post as I find the resources.

    Opportunity's Selfie

NASA's Mars Rover Opportunity catches its own late-afternoon shadow in this dramatically lit view eastward across Endeavour Crater on Mars. The rover used the panoramic camera (Pancam) between about 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. local Mars time to record images taken through different filters and combined into this mosaic view. Most of the component images were recorded during the 2,888th Martian day, or sol, of Opportunity's work on Mars (March 9, 2012). At that time, Opportunity was spending low-solar-energy weeks of the Martian winter at the Greeley Haven outcrop on the Cape York segment of Endeavour's western rim. In order to give the mosaic a rectangular aspect, some small parts of the edges of the mosaic and sky were filled in with parts of an image acquired earlier as part of a 360-degree panorama from the same location. Opportunity has been studying the western rim of Endeavour Crater since arriving there in August 2011. This crater spans 14 miles (22 kilometers) in diameter, or about the same area as the city of Seattle. This is more than 20 times wider than Victoria Crater, the largest impact crater that Opportunity had previously examined. The interior basin of Endeavour is in the upper half of this view. The mosaic combines about a dozen images taken through Pancam filters centered on wavelengths of 753 nanometers (near infrared), 535 nanometers (green) and 432 nanometers (violet). The view is presented in false color to make some differences between materials easier to see, such as the dark sandy ripples and dunes on the crater's distant floor.
